Cherry Picker MEWP

Cherry pickers are elevated work platforms that use a hydraulic lifting system. The operation of these machines is delicate and it is advisable for any employees who are operating a cherry picker to keep training up to date. Training courses for cherry picker operators will not only cover the aspects of operating the machine itself, but will also help delegates to identify hazards and risks associated with using the machine in places where people may be at risk.

  • Identification of component parts
  • Stability and steer exercises
  • Lifting, lowering, outreaching and slewing
  • Pre-use examination
  • Associated knowledge examination
  • Practical examination

What we will need from the venue:

  • A suitable and large enough, indoors practical training area that the floor is smooth, firm and level.

Or

A suitable and large enough, secure outdoors practical training area (25m x 12m) that is away from any activities, overhead cables or obstacles with ground that is firm enough to withstand the machine, with no excavations, underground facilities or manhole covers,

Also

  • A suitable inside room with a power point for theory training. Ideally this room will remain uninterrupted
  • Access to welfare including but not exclusive to—toilets, running water, suitable temperature etc
  • A serviceable MEWP meeting current legislation, with the manufacturer’s handbook and covered by a record of inspection
    20 pallets, 10 cones/drums, constructions/ buildings

Certification:

A certificate will be provided upon completion of the course. Should you require an RTITB operator’s card, one can be obtained for a charge of £20.00. Please bring along a passport photo, or ask the delegates you are booking onto this course to bring this if they require a card.
