Scissor Lift MEWP

From 1 Day at £399 + VAT per day for 3 persons

Not only are you required to complete a scissor lift training course before you operate a scissor lift, but you must also keep this training up to date to continue safe practise. Mobile elevated work platforms work very differently to standard lifts and trucks. If you are looking to up date your training for yourself or if your scissor lift training is due to expire, this course will help you.

Who will benefit from this course?

Anyone required to operate a scissor lift or mobile elevated work platform at their place of employment will benefit from this course. Be it to actually update your license or to just keep on top of changes to procedures and policies within the industry, keeping up to date with your training for this machine will ensure a safe and productive work environment.

The course is to the Road Transport Industry Training Board standards, and is available to anyone over school leaving age and of the necessary degree learning ability to complete the course. The candidate will also need a reasonable degree of physical fitness to comply with HSG6 guidelines.

  • Legislation and duties of operators
  • Identification of component parts
  • Stability and steer exercises
  • Pre-use examination
  • Associated knowledge examination
  • Practical examination

What we will provide:

  • The trainer/examiner
  • All training materials and handouts
  • Projector, screen, videos and presentations

What we will need from the venue:

  • A suitable and large enough, indoors practical training area that the floor is smooth, firm and level.

Or

A suitable and large enough, secure outdoors practical training area (25m x 12m) that is away from any activities, overhead cables or obstacles with ground that is firm enough to withstand the machine, with no excavations, underground facilities or manhole covers.

Also

  • A suitable inside room with a power point for theory training. Ideally this room will remain uninterrupted
  • Access to welfare including but not exclusive to—toilets, running water, suitable temperature etc
  • A serviceable MEWP meeting current legislation, with the manufacturer’s handbook and covered by a record of inspection
    20 pallets, 10 cones/drums, constructions/ buildings

Certification:

A certificate will be provided upon completion of the course. Should you require an RTITB operator’s card, one can be obtained for a charge of £20.00. Please bring along a passport photo, or ask the delegates you are booking onto this course to bring this if they require a card.
